This stunning custom home was designed to be the forever home of a local couple in Indian Rocks Beach. The client wanted a single level home where all the living spaces were connected and easily accessible. This request was a challenge because the lot was in a flood zone and required an elevated base floor. Through innovative design we were able to disguise the elevated base floor and incorporate a foyer in the ground level, providing access the to stairs that take you to the core of the house.
Symmetry and balance were top priorities throughout this custom home design. The selection of materials carries out the identity of the client in the exterior and the interior of the home.
The exterior design mixes neutral tones with high-contrast accents like a dark roof and doors, and elegant black sconces and brass hardware. The interior boasts 1800 sq ft of livable spaces with three bedrooms and two baths. The space is distributed in a way to maximize the use of the rooms and the integration of the social gathering spaces.
The kitchen is the heart of this home. Sleek 9 foot high cabinets allow extra storage and reinforce the ceiling height. A custom-made hood and pantry corner made of a pivot butcher block door added personality to the unique character of that space.
The overall symmetry, combined with linen color cabinetry and high-end brass hardware, plumbing and electrical fixtures completed the look the client envisioned. The dining room is an extension of the kitchen and adds a dark tone into the room's color pallet through unique, reused black painted caned back chairs.
The bathrooms were inspired by European references and feature terrazzo tiles in the floors and walls. The continuity is only broken by the vertically stacked accent tile that frames the free-standing tub and creates a focal point in the room.
